LINER NOTES:
IT’S INSPIRATIONAL TO HEAR PEOPLE YOUR OWN AGE PLAYING LOUD ROCK’N’ROLL. SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES SHOWS THE POWER AND IMPORTANCE OF THE ALL AGE SHOW. THESE BANDS ARE PART OF AN OLD SCHOOL TRADITION OF PLAYING PLACES THEY AREN’T OLD ENOUGH TO GET IN.
MUSIC IS A CELEBRATION OF LIFE, A SELF DECLARATION OF BEING ALIVE. THE FEELINGS MUSIC INCITES WHEN YOU’RE YOUNG ARE INTENSE, VIOLENT AND CALMING. THE FIRST TIME I HEARD BLACK FLAG’S "SIX PACK" SINGLE, I FELT I WAS FINALLY COMMUNICATING WITH PEOPLE FROM MY PLANET.
MEMPHIS IS A BREEDING GROUND FOR MUSIC. IT’S INCREDIBLE HOW MANY GREAT YOUNG BANDS AND MUSICIANS THERE ARE. THE TRADITION AND LEGACY OF MEMPHIS ROCK’N’ROLL IS ALIVE AND WELL.
WITH A CD FULL OF YOUNG MEMPHIS BANDS YOU HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT TO THE ANTENNA CLUB, RARE RECORDS-R. I. P., SHANGRI LA, AND THE YOUNG MEMPHIS BANDS WHO RULED THE SCENE BEFORE THEY BROKE UP-MAN WITH GUN LIVES HERE AND TAINT SKINS.
"SOMETIMES YOU KNOW YOU’RE
JUST ABOUT TO EXPLODE.
I GET SO EXCITED
HAVE TO VANDALIZE."
